SP360 — Service Management SaaS

The Challenge

SP360 was a production multi-tenant SaaS platform serving DFCS (Division of Family and Children Services) Providers across the US — built on Laravel 5.8, which had accumulated years of technical debt. The system handled sensitive workflows: case management, invoicing, payroll, mileage tracking, and compliance reporting. Migrating it without downtime or data loss while simultaneously adding new features was the core challenge.

What I Did

Laravel 5.8 → 12 Migration Executed a full framework upgrade across a live production codebase — updating dependencies, refactoring deprecated APIs, resolving breaking changes in Eloquent, middleware, and routing. Zero data loss. Zero production downtime.

Full-Stack Ownership Took end-to-end ownership of the system: REST API architecture, relational database design, Redis-backed queue processing for async jobs, and a completely redesigned Vue.js + Inertia.js frontend focused on usability improvements for non-technical DFCS operators.

AI-Powered Document Automation Integrated OpenAI and Anthropic Claude APIs to build a 1-click Service Authorization upload feature. The system extracts structured data from uploaded documents using AI, maps it to the correct fields automatically, and validates before submission — eliminating manual data entry, reducing billing errors, and saving operators 30–50+ hours per week.

Platform Feature Expansion Extended SP360 with end-to-end automation across:

• Case management workflows

• Invoicing and payroll processing

• Mileage log tracking

• Unit/service tracking

• Built-in compliance reporting

All fragmented manual workflows were consolidated into a single, cohesive platform.

Website Redesign Alongside the platform work, I led a full redesign of the SmartProvider360.com public website — rethinking the information architecture, visual identity, and messaging to better reflect the platform's capabilities. The goal was to give DFCS Providers and stakeholders a clear, professional first impression that matched the quality of the product behind it.
